Enjoyed this article about the Taj Mahal cleaning project. In fact, bamboo scaffolding has long been used in many parts of Asia and still is. I first saw it being used on skyscraper construction in Hong Kong in 1981, and still saw it being used in China as recently as 2008. Cheap, lightweight, flexible.

"Fuller's earth" or "Mud of Moltan" as it is known in India where it has a long history of many uses, should be a non-invasive, non-chemical approach for removing grime from this exquisite structure which I had the great fortune to see in 2004. What many people do not realize is that the exterior walls of the Taj Mahal are encrusted with patterns of semi-precious stones. Which would likely make the cleaning project even more painstaking.

Cool thanks. Only quibble would be that you attached the Taj Mahal comment to the Panic Button post. Dont think I can change it from this end. Any chance you could put the post on Taj Mahal, and I shall delete the other. But that aside, I shall keep you around
